Don't be so hard on yourself!

It's important to not be too hard on yourself when managing your training routine week to week. Life is fairly hectic for many of us, balancing everything from eating well, moving our body, working / studying & just generally doing life with those that we love.

Recently this is something that I (Jemma) have struggled with.. but I reminded myself of these few things that I preach to members here at Arise & personal clients :

1 : 🎉 Celebrate the Small Wins

Acknowledge & celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem. Each step forward is progress, and it's important to give yourself credit for your efforts🤝

*Even if it is just hitting your step goal for that day - that can be the biggest / best thing you could achieve on that day.

2 : 🤍 Practice Self-Compassion

Treat yourself with kindness & understanding. Recognize that not every week will go exactly as planned, and that's okay. We can't negatively talk to ourselves or build pressure, when in fact we are doing our best.

3 : 📈 Focus on Long-Term Progress

Instead of fixating on short-term setbacks or challenges, keep your focus on the bigger picture.. control what you can in terms of nutrition or step count, or just getting a good nights sleep. I find having small achievable goals week to week, or even monthly helps me stay on track towards the bigger picture.

Whats the saying, 'don't bite off more than you can chew!'

💥 Remember that consistency and gradual progress over time will yield the most significant results.

4 : 🙈 Learn from Setbacks

“You can suffer from a life experience, or you can learn, move on and thrive. The choice of how you react to an experience is yours.” – Sid Smith

If you encounter any setbacks or difficulties, view them as learning opportunities. Reflect on what went wrong, make any necessary adjustments, and use the experience to grow and improve. It is these moments that will make us stronger, better and even more resilient.

5 : Prioritise Good Food

Balancing work, family, and fitness can often lead to unhealthy food choices due to time constraints. Good nutrition is essential for energy and health, especially when balancing multiple responsibilities. Having bad food habits can lead to the lack of energy, enthusiasm & motivation. Not to mention making you feel even more overwhelmed or down with yourself! Combat this by practicing efficient meal planning and preparation, having healthy snacks on hand can help you maintain a balanced diet amidst a busy schedule.

This also includes hydration and drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Remember.. ⚔️ Embrace the journey, stay resilient, and enjoy the process of becoming the best version of yourself.
